Christian Development Initiative is a faith based Christian organization operating in Uganda with its main base in Soroti district South east Uganda. Christian development initiative (CDI) started in August 2007 by the committed volunteers of the local Christian church after discovering that the church leaders and the community needed to be empowered on how to respond to the social, economic, political and spiritual issues that affect churches and communities thus hindering their involvement in ministry and development.
The Christian Development Initiative was established to promote holistic ministry in churches and communities in Soroti District.
MISSION: To achieve an improvement in quality of standards of living of the communities, through church and community involvement in Programmes that promote physical spiritual and sustainable development.
VISION: Holistic, Transformed and self reliant communities.
THE CDI PROGRAMS: Our existence is guided by the following programs:

OBJECTIVES OF THE CDI
- To build the capacity of the local church and community leaders to be ready and able to address HIV and AIDS in churches, families and communities
- To facilitate the church and communities to do their own development through participatory integrated church and community development program [PICD]
- To empower children and youth to be active participants in growth and development
- To facilitate families to improve on their house hold incomes through family life programs
- To empower the churches and Communities to be ready and able to manage emergency issues in their areas
